The Boise Kitchen Garden Club

You all know that I’m on a mission to grow kitchen gardeners in Boise, Idaho. It’s my dream to get everyone in Boise growing at least some of their own food by 2035. That’s why I’ve created the Boise Kitchen Garden Club, and why I’m excited to explain it here for the first blog post of 2021.

What’s the Boise Kitchen Garden Club?

This subscription-based club is for new gardeners and ones with seasons of experience. Each month, you’ll receive a downloadable guide to what to grow and when to grow it in Boise, so you can plan your garden tasks for that time period. For instance, February’s guide goes into what you can plant out in the soil (yes, we can start planting outdoors in February!) and what you should be starting from seed if you’re doing so.

Each guide also includes helpful tips, such as how to get started growing from seed, or how you should be naturally fertilizing your tomatoes in June. Plus, they include a shopping list of the products I use in my garden and where you can find those locally in Boise. No paid ads, as you know I’m just a big fan of our local nurseries and garden centers.

In addition to monthly guides, you’ll receive a weekly email that gives you step-by-step tasks that you can do in your garden that week/weekend. This is an awesome way to stay on track and accountable for tending and harvesting. It’ll include tips, recipes and answers to your questions from the private Facebook group you’ll also have access to.

The BKGC Facebook group is going to be the place where you can ask me questions anytime and learn from the benefit of other members’ experience. There’s a lot of information out on the internet, and this searchable group will be an awesome resource for how I would approach the problems you see in your garden.

Why the BKGC?

I realize that not everyone needs a 60-minute coaching session on the regular, but that a lot of gardeners in Boise still need some regular support. I provide a lot of information on my social media and my blog, but the Boise Kitchen Garden Club is the place for those who want consistent guidance in their gardens. I coach my clients through my own experience, and while my 1:1 sessions are still great for those who need tailored help in their gardens, this allows me to help an entirely other group of gardeners.

Again, it’s my mission to get every single person in Boise to grow some of their own food, and to do that, I want to help you all become more confident as kitchen gardeners. I hope you’ll join me so that we can make our city a healthier, more sustainable and happier place.

How do I join?

If you’re ready to join, you can hop over to our shop by clicking this link. If you join before January 15, you’ll be invited to an exclusive Zoom planning party for the founding members of the BKGC to ensure your garden is planned and ready to grow.

If you’d like to learn a bit more about my coaching style, you can join our five-day Garden Plot Meal Plan challenge. This is an awesome exercise to get your garden planned for 2021. Click here to join.

As always, if you have more questions, you can email me at Jamie@GoldFeatherGardens.com.
