Winter Solstice

We’re turning a corner today. After a long, strange year, tonight will be the longest night of the year, and starting tomorrow, the days will grow increasingly longer. This means every day brings us closer to spring. I personally could not be more excited to get back to tending my garden each day. I hope you’re feeling that way, too.

I spent part of the weekend looking back on pictures I took over the course of 2020. I feel really grateful for the amount of time I spent outside. As the sun shines in Boise today and longer days are on the horizon, I’m turning my attention to planning for spring.

Last week, I dove deep into planning my spring garden. I organized my seeds, made a map and created a planting calendar. I also planned out how I want to help you grow your confidence in gardening for 2021. To make sure I’m serving you as best as possible, I put together a survey that I hope you’ll take. You can jump into that at the button below. It’ll take less than 5 minutes and will really help both of us grow next year.

What I’m hearing a lot of in the survey results I’ve seen so far is that many of you don’t know where to begin when it comes to garden planning. I’m working on a solution to that so you can feel excited about spring gardening, and I’ll tell you more about that next week.

In the meantime, I’m wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Winter Solstice. Let’s use this extra daylight wisely to grow ourselves and make 2021 a banner year.
